‘You are never too old to make believe’

For McDonalds 2021 Christmas campaign we harnessed the power of Imagination through an imaginary friend, Iggy. Iggy is the main character of our 90 second film, which tells the story of a little girl with a big imagination. Iggy and Matilda bond through the magic of Christmas rituals, and Iggy boosts her confidence and creativity. However, as Matilda grows older her imagination becomes less important and her christmas spirit fades. Until one year, with the help of McDonald’s Reindeer Treats, her belief is reignited.

We created a number of activations to support the film, Iggy took over the Reindeer Ready hub with a Christmas countdown full of competitions, games and surprises. People had the opportunity to win an Iggy christmas decoration, Iggy Christmas jumper and even an Imagination craft pack. We even made 5 mini craft videos, ‘Iggy’s how to’s’ to inspire creativity in our audience.

We worked with the author Sarah Hawkins to create a magical tale for the Happy Readers book all about Sam and his best imaginary friend Sparky. Over the course of Christmas eve they embark on a series of festive adventures where Sparky encourages Sam’s creativity and teaches him all about the magic of make-believe.

The book was also available as an audio book read by Ronan Keating!
